Amazon, Google and other web giants consider "nuclear option" to protest sopa

Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), the bill being considered in congress to prevent online piracy, is continuing to cause an uproar in the Internet community and among its most influential companies. The Electronic Frontier Foundation says the bill, if passed, would "allow the U.S. Government and private corporations to create a blacklist of censored websites, and cut many more off from their ad networks and payment providers."

U.S. online holiday spending reaches record $35 billion

ComScore released their new numbers on U.S. holiday shopping revealing $35.3 billion in spending, or a 15% hike in online shopping from last year – a new record.
Another trend found by comScore was the dramatic rise in Christmas Day purchases of digital content.

Yahoo! taps ex-paypal boss for ceo post

Scott Thompson, who formerly headed the Paypal division of eBay, was named as the new CEO of Yahoo!. Thompson will take over January 9.

BBDO guerrero lands phillippines' department of tourism

The Philippines' Department of Tourism awarded a new branding assignment to BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines. Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. said that BBDO Guerrero was chosen from seven other competing agencies.
