Go the extra mile!
“Always go the extra mile and your commitment will be rewarded!” This surely has been Jean-Charles Tijou’s personal motto throughout his career with SELLBYTEL. The 29 year old French native with a strong sales background is a great example for a remarkable SELLBYTEL career. In our latest Success Story the Project Manager tells us all about his SELLBYTEL story and the valuable experiences he has made so far.
Jean-Charles, what does your time with the SELLBYTEL Group look like so far?
Well, I started off as a Sales Representative for the Partner Program of a client, a leading worldwide IT producer, in March 2012, after my then colleague had recommended me for the position.
Due to my strong commitment and the project’s fast growth, I was soon appointed Supervisor of the French team in September 2012. I originally started with a team of six people and two years later we more than tripled this. During that time, I also took part in SELLBYTEL’s Supervisor Training program, which really helped me manage my new responsibilities.
Since September 2014, I have been Project Manager for a new client, a leading social media platform, for which we currently cover four markets. Currently I am still being coached, which means I learn new things every single day. I really enjoy this new challenge.
Speaking of challenges… what do you find particularly challenging about your current role and how do you deal with that?
Our reports tend to be very detailed. This can be rather challenging. Besides, I always have to be on top of the business and be 100% prepared for our weekly reviews with the client. My way of dealing with this is to be patient, always give 120% and go the extra mile! As a consequence, my commitment is appreciated and new opportunities are given to me.
What do you particularly enjoy about your position?
I love the fact that we work in various markets and that I have the opportunity to work in different projects: I used to work in the IT industry and now I am in online advertising. So SELLBYTEL has given me the chance to improve my skills in various fields. I further find it very interesting to manage my own project and directly deal with my client day in day out.
What, in your view, is special about SELLBYTEL as an employer?
SELLBYTEL and especially my management have always supported me with trainings, coaching and provided me with useful advice every step of the way.
And finally, how do you like to spend your free time?
I’m a huge sports fan! I love to play football and… I run half-marathons. Both are the perfect ways to recharge my batteries and unwind.
