Versatility is my thing!
Nina Salamun from Slovenia totally knows what a diverse job role looks like. The 33 year old Program Manager not only covers a broad range of different tasks in her daily work life, she also works with the most varied mix of people from across the world. In this interview she tells us some more about her career and experiences with SELLBYTEL.
Nina, how has your career developed within the SELLBYTEL Group?
I started in February 2013 as a Business Analyst (EMEA) for a specific project of our client, a worldwide leading IT producer. As the program grew quickly, I became Team Leader for EMEA and Iberia in July 2014. In February 2015 I then joined a new project as a Supervisor. Last year in November I finally took the position of the Program Manager.
And what does your current role with SELLBYTEL involve?
At the moment I manage three of our client’s projects. I help our client grow their business and make sure my teams provide the service that our client expects from us. I improve processes and procedures, while keeping the team motivated to do the best job they can.
What do you particularly like about your position?
I especially like that it’s very versatile and that I have the possibility to work with many different people. Besides, there are varying challenges every day that help me learn and develop further.
So what challenges have you faced so far?
I think the biggest challenge in this position is to motivate my team. However, managing so many diverse people with different cultures is a very rewarding experience too. You simply get the chance to learn a lot.
What are your tips to others who would like to have this career path within the company?
Demonstrate proactivity and interest in developing in the company. You need to be flexible, open to learn new things and a valuable asset for your client.
What in your view is special about SELLBYTEL as an employer?
There are many opportunities to grow and develop your career. Besides, the multicultural environment of the company not only helps you grow professionally, it also enriches your personal knowledge and helps you become more culturally sensible.
And finally, how do you like to spend your free time?
I spend a lot of my free time with my dog. We go running or take long walks. Whenever possible, I also like to escape from the city over the weekend and spend time on the beach or in the mountains.
