Business Talk with Ralph Pittack: how to create a successful performance

In a double-stage strategy meeting, SELLBYTEL´s subsidiary LIVINGBRANDS has set its course for the forthcoming months. In Business Talk Ralph Pittack reveals the direction of this course. He is Managing Director of LIVINGBRANDS and leads the company together with his colleague Thomas Grimm.


Mr. Pittack, what was the most important topic to discuss in your strategy meeting?

We want to concentrate to an outstanding performance within every single project. That was our leading idea from the beginning of our strategy meeting. So we discussed how to reach this aim. Therefore we distinguished different challenges: First of all we need to improve our efficiency. Frictional losses are a waste of time. Instead we will concentrate on our main business! Therefore we will optimize our process chains and advance our flat hierarchies. So every employer has to assume more responsibility, especially the 1st Level Management. We are creating actions and arrangements to offer more transparency as well as training programs for our teams. In order to achieve our expected growth, we furthermore need to recruit additional colleagues with high motivation as well as with experience in sales.


That is all describing the direction of your strategy. In which fields LIVINGBRANDS expects growth within this year?

More and more companies rely on inside sales – meanwhile also in Germany. One reason is that the field sales concerning medium-sized enterprises run up high bills. Our inside sales manager and inside channel manager take over field sales duties, sometimes just in some parts, sometimes completely. Below the line we gain better results for our clients and our clients also gain an undreamt kind of flexibility. One reason for this development: the fear to order via telephone has dropped within the past years, at least in the business-to-business sector.


How do you convince your clients?

We are experts in our business and our longstanding experiences are our key to find solutions even for highly complex requirements in sales. This is proved by a lot of best practice cases. Furthermore our clients can rely on a high degree of transparency. That means, they exactly know how much money they will need to invest into a project. We are convinced: Our service in sales is not cheap, but it´s more than valuable! Of course also the right feeling is one determing factor. It is our philosophy to live our clients´ brands. Due to this attitude, we have developed a lot of long-term strategic partnership relations with our customers.
