After having finished her studies in Hotel Management in year 2003, our colleague Silvia moved to England to start her professional career within the tourism sector. Sometime later she decided to return to her hometown, Barcelona. Once back she joined SELLBYTEL in 2006. Our international character and multicultural environment convinced her instantly. And even though the new sector was pretty unknown and challenging to her, she was full of hope and desire to grow. After ten years in the company she still maintains this motivation in her daily work as a Project Manager. She tells us all about it in this interview.
Silvia, please tell us about you and your career with us.
I started my career with SELLBYTEL ten years ago as a Customer Service Specialist for a car renting client. Shortly after, I became Mentor and Supervisor. In 2008, I began to work as a back-up for the Project Manager, and sometime later, I was appointed the official Program Manager for the same project.
And what does your role exactly consist of?
I currently lead a team of 50 people within the project. This includes different task areas, such as providing customer care, commercial services and financial management.
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
To be honest, there have been quite a few of them. Always supporting every member of my team in the same way, always meeting our partner’s high expectations and adapting to changing client requirements and needs can be very challenging. I personally deal with these challenges by always giving my best.
