Hard work pays off!
Originally from Spain, our colleague Victor Manzanera spent most of his youth in the U.K. He moved back to his home country and joined the SELLBYTEL Group as a part-time Service Representative for one of the projects. After graduating from university in 2010, he was offered the opportunity of a full-time position as a Supervisor with the same client. Without hesitating, he took the chance and started his successful career with the SELLBYTEL Group. Read more about Victor’s career path on our latest success story.
Victor, you have been with SELLBYTEL for nine years, could you please give us an insight into your inspiring career with us so far?
Just like most of my fellow colleagues, I started working as an agent for a client project in 2009. Since my start, I have been able to develop professionally in a way I didn’t expect. Throughout the years, I have had the opportunity of moving into different operational roles – from Supervisor to Manager – with various clients. Within SELLBYTEL, this is not an exception, it is one of the strongest points of the company. The focus in providing continuous opportunities to employees is amazing. My colleagues have also had the same incredible growth progress.
What are the secrets behind your success at SELLBYTEL?
Team work and hard work are the keys to our success, we all share best practices, synergies and support each other hand in hand. I’ve made many mistakes in the past by thinking that asking for help or support was not an option. By trying to accomplish everything on my own, I failed a few times. A team’s strength lies in each individual’s contribution. I wouldn’t have been able to be this successful if it wasn’t for building a strong team to work with and by receiving support from other colleagues and departments. Nothing in life comes on a silver platter. Any type of success has to be earned and it involves a lot of hard work!
What is your current role at SELLBYTEL?
Currently, I am part of the Account Management team as the Global Account Director. My role involves supervising the project with one of our major clients in the company, an international provider of internet services. As a point of contact between SELLBYTEL and our client, my responsibilities include understanding our client’s needs with current ongoing operations, receiving feedback on improvements and focus areas, as well as future strategy discussions to strengthen our partnership. I really like being in the Account Management department as it plays an important role in building and sustaining a strong relationship with our partner. I not only concentrate on meeting our client’s expectations but also on supporting our operational team in key focus areas for improvement and development.
What do you love most about your job?
The opportunity to work with so many different teams and amazing colleagues in different locations across the globe is fascinating. It’s an opportunity I’ve never had before and it gives me an insight into all the different operations of SELLBYTEL, – it’s an ongoing learning curve. I always say that working one year at SELLBYTEL is like working five years at another company because the development speed is so fast and you learn so much in such a short period of time which becomes addictive (laughs).
How can you describe yourself in one word?
That is a very difficult question (laughs again). It’s hard to define anyone in one single word. However, the word I would use is passionate. Everything I do, I do it in the best possible way. By investing as much time and energy as it takes, I support everyone the best I can and help create success in our teams.
How do you like spending your free time?
I spend any free time I have with family and close friends. We are so caught up in our professional lives and we put so much effort into it that we sometimes get carried away and lose track of time. From my personal point of view, it is also important to stay close and connected to our loved ones. Apart from that, cooking is my secret passion and I love spending time trying out new recipes. It helps me to chill out and relax.
